Housed in part of the recently restored Károlyi Palace, home of the Petofi Museum of Literature, the Károlyi Restaurant and Café is an unassuming, reasonably priced place to take relatives or friends for a bit of local atmosphere, particularly when you wish to show them you know a quiet „secret spot” away from the busy sidewalk cafés The attractive, Biedemeier-esque interior seats around 120, while there’s room for around 100 more outdoors in the courtyard underneath the Chesnut trees, offering a shaded nook to cool off during the hot days of summer.
